McDonald's Newton, NJ
13 Hampton House Rd Newton, NJ 07860 (973) 383-6100 In the Town of Newton, New Jersey, the County Seat of rural Sussex County was another McDonald's Restaurant. This one had bad sewage and other problems, so the restaurant moved the location and rebuilt. This is also now owned by McDonald's. There is handicapped parking in front, most of the signs are missing. When the drive up is busy, you can't park there. If you park there, you can't back out. The entrance is not accessible. No wheelchair seating. The restroom is also non compliant. --------------------------------- Getting nothing but the run a round from McDonald's, I would call Lori an Operations Consutant, who would not return my phone calls. I wrote to Mike Roberts the President of McDonald's Corp. I never got a letter back, but got a phone call from Debbie in the regional office who said she were calling in responce to my letter on behalf of Mike Roberts. I was told Mr. Roberts was going to shut down the Franklin location sometime in 2005 and make it fully ADA compliant. Then in 2006 the Newton location would shut down and make it ADA compliant. Nothing happened in Franklin so I called the regional office. I was told they intend to rebuild the restaurant, they have been attending planning board and zoning board meetings, but are having problems getting permits to build. This is the same location, McDonald's owns the property, there was a restaurant there before. So nothing happened in 2005. So far nothing happened up to present date from the reports I get. In the meanwhile Wendy's opened a new location right down the road that was fully compliant. In the other direction a Burger King owned by Carrol's Corp burnt down and had to rebuild. This was also a disaster for many years.
