Carolls Corp Burger King's not accessible
- Entry for May 28, 2006 - Carrol's Corporation Restaurants
-
Carrol's Corporation 968 James St Syracuse, NY 13203 315) 424-0513 www.carrols.com Carrol's Corporation has three different franchises. One of the franchises is Burger King of which they owned 350 restaurants. I used to patronize one location in Franklin, NJ on Route 23 North and the other was in Hampton, NJ. Both were located in rural Sussex County. 272 State Rt 23 38 Hampton House Rd. Franklin, NJ 07416 Newton. NJ 07860 The original restrooms in both locations were not accessible and were the size of a hall closet. If you went in, you could not turn around. After many complaints they finally built new accessible restrooms. The handicapped parking in Hampton had three spaces, but when they painted lines in the parking spaces, the penalty plaques were removed. The posts that held the signs were two feet from the ground and not five feet. UPS and USPS would park in the handicapped spaces when making their deliveries. The handicapped parking in Franklin also had three spaces, but when lines were painted the penalty plaques were removed. When Franklin PD went for a meal and UPS for a delivery, they would park in the handicapped spaces, so would everyone and anyone, but the disabled. How do you expect the police to enforce the law when they don't even respect it? The managers who were hired did not care, equipment did not work, no ice or napkins, no toilet paper or hot air hand dryer did not work. I have even heard of burgers being burnt. They could not keep employees. Either they left or were fired. When they plowed the snow, it was not removed completely from the handicapped spaces which is in violation of NJ State law. Nothing was done when reported to the manager. Calling or speaking to Division Managers did nothing either. The worst manager was a young smart alec named Heather Van Pelt. If you told her something, she shook her head and did nothing. New Jersey has a snow removal law which states that snow has to be removed from handicapped spaces within 48 hours. When the snow was plowed, it was never completely removed from the walk way or the handicapped spaces. Complaining to the Franklin police did nothing as they also parked in the handicapped spaces along with everyone else except those with permits. It took almost eight years to correct the handicapped parking signage in both locations. I was told the Franklin location caught fire and burnt down. I have no further information
