Arnold Diaz has a program called "Shame on you"  which is on FOX. This police department was investigated once before and three members of the police force were dismissed. One was a Deputy Chief.

So after trying to find a place to park, I observed a handicaped space with permit only and a car was parked in it. As I parked at the end of the small parking lot, only space available. I walked by the handicapped space and found the vehicle there had a handicapped placard (before the hanger). This placard had been discontinued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, State of New Jersey over seven years ago. It is obsolete and outdated.  It is the same as if you don't have one.
The vehicle had been parked there for quite a while. I went downtown to the South River PD who dispatched a patrol car. The car showed up immediately. The officer wanted to see the vehicle. The handicapped space was right in front of him. I showed him the car and he looked at the placard and said he was not going to issue a summons to a disabled person and for them to have to pay a $250 fine. I tried to argue with him about an expiration date and the Department of Motor Vehicles, and if they were truely disabled, why not a new hanger. He said he was going to call the dispatcher. Then he said he had to leave on another call and would be back.
After not coming back for some time. I went back  downtown to the SR PD. I again spoke to dispatcher who told me the officer called in and said he did not see anything wrong with the permit. I protested and got to speak to a supervisor who knew about permits and expiration dates. He said he would look into it further. I thanked him and left.
After my errands, I passed by the space again and found the car to still be there. I find this a complete without question violation of the law and a police department who refuses to enforce the law. Most police do not want to enforce the law when it pertains to the disabled.

Police do not want to issue a summons to people who park in a handicapped space without a permit as they do not want to issue a summons to someone who plows snow or anything else into a handicapped space which is a state law in New Jersey.
