Wish you could be in Columbus for the National Forum on Disability Issues featuring the Presidentail candidates but just can't make it? Whether it's gas prices, summer heat, or conflicting travel plans, you can still see us in Columbus by registering for the live, simultaneous webcast of the event! The webcast will feature real time captioning and American sign language interpreting, and is sponsored by Disaboom. Why not invite some friends and coworkers and make it a viewing party? After all, it is the 18th Anniversary of the ADA! Viewing parties are being planned up all over the country, with some audiences as large as 1,000 people already reported. Plan on joining us - register today! Registration is required to help planners gain an accurate count of people "tuning in," to help direct media attention toward locations with significant viewership, and to help us gage interest for future forums. Register for the webcast (link: http://www.disaboom.com/AAPDSignUp.aspx ) 2. The National Council on Disability (NCD) is gathering public input for a study of emerging issues and trends affecting the lives of people with disabilities. Information gathered will be used in the development of NCD's next annual progress report to the President and Congress. The Council is seeking input on disability issues including health, housing, employment, insurance, transportation, assistive technology, recreation, emergency preparedness, early intervention and education. Suggestions should be sent to NCD by August 7, 2008 via ncd@ncd.gov . Type "Emerging Trends" in the subject line. 3. Reform Healthcare http://www.citizenshealthcare.gov 4.
